Metamorphic Scarf
The Metamorphic Scarf is a Tunisian crochet pattern worked in the round and designed to celebrate the striking effects of assigned pooling yarn. As the colors shift, they form purposeful areas of texture that give each scarf a distinctive and visually dynamic look.
Created for intermediate makers, this design relies on steady, repeatable stitches that allow the color changes to stand out while creating a soft fabric with beautiful movement. It pairs perfectly with two skeins of assigned pooling yarn or with a complementary tonal shade for the return pass. The Metamorphic Scarf is a modern statement piece that puts the spotlight on the artistry of assigned pooling colorways.

To achieve this look, use one skein of assigned pooling yarn and one skein of a coordinating tonal. Note: This sample is shorter than directions provided in the pattern. But if you like a long infinity scarf (over 60 in) you will need two skeins of assigned pooling yarn. The length of the finished cowl varies based on the length of the assigned pooling color in the yarn. If you choose this option, I suggest buying two skeins of the assigned pooling just in case.
Two Skeins of Assigned Pooling Version
Note: This version currently is not pictured. But to see how the assigned pooling could look for this version check out the Metamorphic Cowl.
To achieve use two skeins of assigned pooling yarn, one for the forward pass and one for the return pass.
